Knots and Needles

Knots and Needles

Lyrics

I twist the thread with shaking hands The blood congeals and marks the head A loop emerges, form reveals The stitch denies what shape converges

I breathe beneath the weaving eyes It pierces soft, but lands its teeth

The knot does not the needle drop

A silent oath is sewn by hand The thread recalls what once was cloth The knot is loud, but silence falls Each circle drawn in shadowed shroud

A tremble hides the seam its on A split between the stitch’s sides

The needle needs the knot again

I chased the curve along the grain The spiral wound, the will to serve The echo knelt beside the sound And left its mark though never felt

The rhythm broke and lit the dark A loop misplaced in measured stroke

The knot does not the needle drop

The eye is small, but sees the most It threads the thread, the knots and all The needle bends but not ahead The wound reveals what time pretends

I hold the line between appeals The seam repeats, the pulse is mine

The needle needs the knot again

The needle needs the knot to thread the needle

The needle needs the knot to thread the needle

The needle needs the knot to thread the needle
